Our warehousing operations can be divided into four broad categories, defined below. Within these categories there are various services that can be provided. The warehousing operation forms an integral part of the total package that Hallam Freight can offer its customers. Unlike a traditional stand-alone warehousing operation, integration with our road transport operations allows us to offer a total distribution package.

TRANSIT WAREHOUSING

The majority of consignments that pass through our warehouse are held for 24/48 hours whilst awaiting final delivery/collection. We are also able to consolidate goods for shippers, freight forwarders, and international transport companies. These consignments can then be loaded to the export trailers and containers for onward delivery to their final destination.

SHORT-TERM STORAGE

Many of our customers use this facility, to help them overcome a short-term storage problem, or to cope with seasonal peaks in demand.

LONG-TERM STORAGE

We provide several customers with various long- term storage facilities. These range from holding a consignment stock of refractory products for a Scandinavian owned company, to point of sale materials that are collected on a daily basis by the customers own staff.

STORAGE AND DISTRIBUTION

For some customers we provide a complete storage and distribution package. This involves storage facilities for their products, an order picking function, stock control and despatch to the end user. Obviously all of the above services can be tailored into a package, to meet customers' specific requirements.
